Dr Z Booi is a well-known and recommended General surgeon in Johannesburg.

He is affectionately known as “The Good Dr”, a name first coined by his running

mates. He was born and raised in a small rural village of Mqanduli in the Eastern

Cape, where he obtained his basic education (Bantwanana Primary, Lower

Ngqwarha JSS, Gengqe SSS and later Hunt Road SSS in Durban). He resumed his undergraduate studies at the University of the Witwartesrand where he obtained his junior degree, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh).

 

Upon completion of his internship and community service in Pietermaritzburg he went on to further his studies and specialised in General Surgery and received Fellowship of the College of Surgeons of South Africa, FCS(SA), while rotating in the hospitals under the Wits circuit. He at the same time studied and completed Masters of Medicine (MMed) with Wits University. He was recognised and awarded a prize as the Best registrar by the Department of Surgery at WITS University upon completion of his studies.

 

Dr Booi is practicing as a specialist  surgeon under Clinix health Group, and his

field of interest is : Laparoscopic surgery and the overall management of diseases falling within the confines of a general surgeon, including trauma.
